This page is mainly about family

September is upon us, you can already see different species of birds flocking together for their fall migration. The only thing we won't miss having in winter are the skunks that seem to be making themselves known quite regularly outside our bedroom window those we can do without!!

In past summers the grass normally turns somewhat brown and dry and trees & shrubs usually slow way down, not this year! This year each time I've cut the grass I've had to pick it up otherwise it would look like a hay field and we have probably pruned or trimmed all the bushes and trees a number of times. Although, we keep saying that we are going to cut down on the number of flowers, shrubs and bushes it seems like there are more not less.

We planted a Sunburst Locust and a Zelkova  tree this past spring to replace the huge Maple that we had taken down and they are growing very nicely, also put in two Butterfly bushes to replace the one I killed last year by triming it back at the wrong time.

Football season is in full swing, go PSU!! Our great grandson started Kindergarten a first for this family.  We must be getting old when we start talking about "greats". It seems like yesterday when we were saying our grandchildren were starting school.

Three of our grandchildren are dealing with health issues, Jeff cut the end of his finger off in an industrial accident, Kelly dislocated her knee when two big dogs she was dog sitting ran into her, Andrew is going to have an MRI to see if he has a herniated disc.  Jeff and Kelly are on their way to recovery but Andrew has yet to find out what he needs to do. We told Lisa that she needs to sit on a pillow on a chair Lis doesn't need anymore of her children calling up and saying they are on the way to the hospital.

Our three step grandchildren are all in school, DJ attends USC in California studying Physics, Bethany is in the last few months of nursing school, Kari goes to a private christian school both in Florida.

Andrew tells us his Army Reserve unit is being sent to Iraq, he is to start training for deployment soon.  We will all be praying for his safety and a safe return.

Nicole is dealing with Deven starting kindergarten and all the ills and ails he brings home with him. They have already had the first bout with the sniffles.  She has her own health issues and she is on disability.

Well, we can only wait and see what winter brings, hopefully everyone will be healthy and happy and all the ones dealing with health issues will recover quickly.
